Doreen primarily works as an independent PR and marketing consultant and trainer. If the scope of a project requires additional assistance, she partners with a selective team of award-winning associates.

Biography
Doreen Marcial Poreba, APR, is an award-winning, accredited professional with more than 25 years of experience in public relations, marketing, community relations and journalism. She is the founder and president of The PR Czar, Inc., a full-service public relations firm in Stuart, Florida. Additionally, Doreen is a freelance writer for The Palm Beach Post and Treasure Coast Business Journal and a professional trainer for various groups, including the Nonprofit Resource Institute, Florida Public Relations Association and Northern Palm Beaches Chamber of Commerce.

As a marketing communications expert, Doreen has worked both sides of the media fence and has earned the credibility and respect of local, regional and national media. Her professional achievements include directing multi-media campaigns that resulted in positive print, broadcast and online feature stories; managing nationally recognized marketing and advertising campaigns; creating promotions that accomplished both financial expectations and customer service goals; generating corporate sponsorship programs; establishing effective community outreach partnerships; and writing, editing, and proofing grants, speeches, broadcast scripts, news releases, articles and publications. Doreen also provides her clients with outstanding technological skills including videography and photography.

After graduating magna cum laude from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, Doreen began her career as a news reporter with WYTV, an ABC affiliate in Youngstown, Ohio, and WPEC, a CBS affiliate in West Palm Beach, Florida. Her PR career spans both the corporate world and nonprofit sector, having worked for The Miami Herald Publishing Company, Northwood University, and SunFest, Florida’s largest music, art and waterfront festival.

As the recipient of more than 50 awards, Doreen has been recognized by the Florida Public Relations Association, International Festivals & Events Association, Florida Festivals & Events Association and Women in Communications, Inc. She also won the prestigious Star Award from Women in Communications, Inc. and an Up & Comers Award from Price Waterhouse and South Florida Magazine. She was presented with a statewide Distinguished Service Award from The Florida Literacy Coalition, Inc. for exceptional contributions to literacy efforts, and achieved the APR (Accredited in Public Relations) ranking from the Florida Public Relations Association.

Community Involvement and Professional Memberships
Doreen believes that communities can only grow and prosper by involving its residents and business leaders. That’s why she has served on boards and committees for a multitude of nonprofit organizations. She annually serves as a Palm Beach Post Pathfinders judge in the field of communications and volunteers with Spiritual Voyagers and Blue Star.

Doreen is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, Florida Public Relations Assocation, National Press Photographers Association, National Association of Photoshop Professionals, Leadership Martin County and the North Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce.
